第12章

1節
また天に大なる(しるし)見えたり。日を著たる女ありて其の足の下に月あり、其の頭に十二の星の冠冕あり。
(口語)また、大いなるしるしが天に現れた。ひとりの女が太陽を着て、足の下に月を踏み、その頭に十二の星の冠をかぶっていた。
(英訳)A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
2節
かれは(みごも)りをりしが、[子を]産まんとして(うみ)苦痛(くるしみ)(なやみ)とのために叫べり。
(口語)この女は子を宿しており、産みの苦しみと悩みとのために、泣き叫んでいた。
(英訳)She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.
3節
また天に他の徴見えたり。視よ、大なる赤き(たつ)あり、これに七つの頭と十の角とありて、頭には七つの冠冕あり。
(口語)また、もう一つのしるしが天に現れた。見よ、大きな、赤い龍がいた。それに七つの頭と十の角とがあり、その頭に七つの冠をかぶっていた。
(英訳)Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads.
4節
その尾は天の星の三分の一を引きて之を地に落せり。龍は子を産まんとする女の前に立ち、産むを待ちて其の子を食ひ(つく)さんと構へたり。
(口語)その尾は天の星の三分の一を掃き寄せ、それらを地に投げ落した。龍は子を産もうとしている女の前に立ち、生れたなら、その子を食い尽そうとかまえていた。
(英訳)His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.
5節
女は男子を産めり、この子は鐵の杖もて諸種(もろもろ)國人(くにびと)を治めん。かれは神の許に、その御座の下に()げられたり。
(口語)女は男の子を産んだが、彼は鉄のつえをもってすべての国民を治めるべき者である。この子は、神のみもとに、その御座のところに、引き上げられた。
(英訳)She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.
6節
女は荒野(あらの)に逃げゆけり、彼處に千二百六十日の間かれが養はるる爲に神の備へ給へる所あり。
(口語)女は荒野へ逃げて行った。そこには、彼女が千二百六十日のあいだ養われるように、神の用意された場所があった。
(英訳)The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
7節
斯て天に戰爭(いくさ)おこれり、ミカエル及およびその使たち龍とたたかふ。龍もその使たちも之と戰ひしが、
(口語)さて、天では戦いが起った。ミカエルとその御使たちとが、龍と戦ったのである。龍もその使たちも応戦したが、
(英訳)And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
8節
勝つこと能はず、天には、はや其の居る所なかりき。
(口語)勝てなかった。そして、もはや天には彼らのおる所がなくなった。
(英訳)But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
9節
かの大なる龍、すなわち惡魔と呼ばれ、サタンと呼ばれたる、全世界をまどはす古き蛇は落され、地に落され、その使たちも共に落されたり。
(口語)この巨大な龍、すなわち、悪魔とか、サタンとか呼ばれ、全世界を惑わす年を経たへびは、地に投げ落され、その使たちも、もろともに投げ落された。
(英訳)The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10節
我また天に大なる聲ありて、『われらの神の救と能力と國と神のキリストの權威とは、今すでに來れり。(これ)我らの兄弟を訴へ夜晝(よるひら)われらの神の前に訴ふるもの落された(ればな)り。
(口語)その時わたしは、大きな声が天でこう言うのを聞いた、「今や、われらの神の救と力と国と、神のキリストの権威とは、現れた。われらの兄弟らを訴える者、夜昼われらの神のみまえで彼らを訴える者は、投げ落された。
(英訳)Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
11節
(しか)して兄弟たちは羔羊の血と己が證の言とによりて(彼に)勝ち、死に至るまで己が生命を惜まざりき。
(口語)兄弟たちは、小羊の血と彼らのあかしの言葉とによって、彼にうち勝ち、死に至るまでもそのいのちを惜しまなかった。
(英訳)They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
12節
この故に天および天に住める者よ、よろこべ、地と海とは禍害なるかな、惡魔おのが時の暫時(しばし)なるを知り大なる憤恚(いきどほり)を懐きて汝等のもとに下りたればなり』と云ふを聞きけり。
(口語)それゆえに、天とその中に住む者たちよ、大いに喜べ。しかし、地と海よ、おまえたちはわざわいである。悪魔が、自分の時が短いのを知り、激しい怒りをもって、おまえたちのところに下ってきたからである」。
(英訳)Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."
13節
斯て龍はおのが地に落されしを見て男子を生みし女を責めたりしが、
(口語)龍は、自分が地上に投げ落されたと知ると、男子を産んだ女を追いかけた。
(英訳)When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
14節
女は荒野なる己が處に飛ぶために大なる鷲の(ふたつ)の翼を與へられたれば、其處(そこ)にいたり、一年、二年、また半年のあひだ蛇のまへを離れて養はれたり。
(口語)しかし、女は自分の場所である荒野に飛んで行くために、大きなわしの二つの翼を与えられた。そしてそこでへびからのがれて、一年、二年、また、半年の間、養われることになっていた。
(英訳)The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent's reach.
15節
蛇はその口より水を川のごとく、女の背後に吐きて之を流さんとしたれど、
(口語)へびは女の後に水を川のように、口から吐き出して、女をおし流そうとした。
(英訳)Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent.
16節
地は女を助け、その口を開きて龍の口より吐きたる川を呑み盡せり。
(口語)しかし、地は女を助けた。すなわち、地はその口を開いて、龍が口から吐き出した川を飲みほした。
(英訳)But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
17節
龍は女を怒りてその(すゑ)の殘れるもの、即ち神の誡命(いましめ)を守り、イエスの證を有てる者に戰鬪(たたかひ)を挑まんとて出でゆき、
(口語)龍は、女に対して怒りを発し、女の残りの子ら、すなわち、神の戒めを守り、イエスのあかしを持っている者たちに対して、戦いをいどむために、出て行った。
(英訳)Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring――those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
18節
海邊(うみべ)の砂の上に立てり。
(口語)そして、海の砂の上に立った。

第13章

1節
我また一つの獸の海より上るを見たり。之に十の角と七つの頭とあり、その角に十の冠冕あり、頭の上には神を(けが)す名あり。
(口語)わたしはまた、一匹の獣が海から上って来るのを見た。それには角が十本、頭が七つあり、それらの角には十の冠があって、頭には神を汚す名がついていた
(英訳)And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.
2節
わが見し獸は豹に似にて、その足は熊のごとく、その口は獅子の口のごとし。龍は、これに己が能力と己が座位と大なる權威とを與へたり。
(口語)わたしの見たこの獣はひょうに似ており、その足はくまの足のようで、その口はししの口のようであった。龍は自分の力と位と大いなる権威とを、この獣に与えた。
(英訳)The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
3節
我その頭の一つ傷つけられて死ぬばかりなるを見しが、その死ぬべき傷いやされたれば、全地(ぜんち)の者これを怪しみて獸に(したが)へり。
(口語)その頭の一つが、死ぬほどの傷を受けたが、その致命的な傷もなおってしまった。そこで、全地の人々は驚きおそれて、その獣に従い、
(英訳)One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.
4節
また龍おのが權威を獸に與へしによりて彼ら龍を拜し、且その獸を拜して言ふ『たれか此の獸に等しき者あらん、誰か之と戰ふことを得ん』
(口語)また、龍がその権威を獣に与えたので、人々は龍を拝み、さらに、その獣を拝んで言った、「だれが、この獣に匹敵し得ようか。だれが、これと戦うことができようか」。
(英訳)Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"
5節
獸また大言と涜言(けがしごと)とを語る口を與へられ、四十二个月(しじふにかげつ)のあひだ働く權威を與へらる、
(口語)この獣には、また、大言を吐き汚しごとを語る口が与えられ、四十二か月のあいだ活動する権威が与えられた。
(英訳)The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.
6節
彼は口をひらきて神を(けがし)し、又その御名とその幕屋すなはち天に住む者どもとを(けがし)し、
(口語)そこで、彼は口を開いて神を汚し、神の御名と、その幕屋、すなわち、天に住む者たちとを汚した。
(英訳)He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.
7節
また聖徒に戰鬪を挑みて、之に勝つことを許され、且もろもろの族・民・國語・國を(つかさ)どる權威を與へらる。
(口語)そして彼は、聖徒に戦いをいどんでこれに勝つことを許され、さらに、すべての部族、民族、国語、国民を支配する権威を与えられた。
(英訳)He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
8節
凡て地に住む者にて其の名を、屠られ給ひし羔羊の生命の書に、世の(はじめ)より記されざる者は、これを拜せん。
(口語)地に住む者で、ほふられた小羊のいのちの書に、その名を世の初めからしるされていない者はみな、この獣を拝むであろう。
(英訳)All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast――all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.
9節
人もし耳あらば聽くべし。
(口語)耳のある者は、聞くがよい。
(英訳)He who has an ear, let him hear.
10節
虜にせらるべき者は虜にせられん、劍にて殺す者は、おのれも劍にて殺さるべし、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とは(ここ)にあり。
(口語)とりこになるべき者は、とりこになっていく。つるぎで殺す者は、自らもつるぎで殺されねばならない。ここに、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とがある。
(英訳)If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
11節
我また他の獸の地より上るを見たり。これに羔羊のごとき角二つありて龍のごとく語り、
(口語)わたしはまた、ほかの獣が地から上って来るのを見た。それには小羊のような角が二つあって、龍のように物を言った。
(英訳)Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.
12節
先の獸の凡ての權威を彼の前にて行ひ、地と地に住む者とをして死ぬべき傷の(いや)されたる先の獸を拜せしむ。
(口語)そして、先の獣の持つすべての権力をその前で働かせた。また、地と地に住む人々に、致命的な傷がいやされた先の獣を拝ませた。
(英訳)He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.
13節
また大なる徴をおこなひ、人々の前にて火を天より地に降らせ、
(口語)また、大いなるしるしを行って、人々の前で火を天から地に降らせることさえした。
(英訳)And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.
14節
かの獸の前にて行ふことを許されし徴をもて地に住む者どもを(まどは)し、劍にうたれてなほ生ける獸の像を造ることを地に住む者どもに命じたり。
(口語)さらに、先の獣の前で行うのを許されたしるしで、地に住む人々を惑わし、かつ、つるぎの傷を受けてもなお生きている先の獣の像を造ることを、地に住む人々に命じた。
(英訳)Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
15節
而してその獸の像に息を與へて物言(ものい)はしめ、且その獸の像を拜せぬ者をことごとく殺さしむる事を許され、
(口語)それから、その獣の像に息を吹き込んで、その獣の像が物を言うことさえできるようにし、また、その獣の像を拝まない者をみな殺させた。
(英訳)He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
16節
また凡ての人をして、大小・貧富・自主・奴隷の(わかち)なく、(あるい)はその右の手、あるいは其のその額に徽章(しるし)を受けしむ。
(口語)また、小さき者にも、大いなる者にも、富める者にも、貧しき者にも、自由人にも、奴隷にも、すべての人々に、その右の手あるいは額に刻印を押させ、
(英訳)He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,
17節
この徽章を有たぬ凡ての者に賣買(うりかい)することを得ざらしめたり。その徽章は獸の名、もしくは其の名の數字(すうじ)なり。
(口語)この刻印のない者はみな、物を買うことも売ることもできないようにした。この刻印は、その獣の名、または、その名の数字のことである。
(英訳)so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18節
智慧は茲にあり、心ある者は獸の數字を算へよ。獸の數字は人の數字にして、その數字は六百六十六なり。
(口語)ここに、知恵が必要である。思慮のある者は、獣の数字を解くがよい。その数字とは、人間をさすものである。そして、その数字は六百六十六である。
(英訳)This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

第14章

1節
われ見しに、視よ、羔羊シオンの山に立ちたまふ。十四萬四千の人、これと(とも)に居り、その額には羔羊の名および羔羊の父の名、記しあり。
(口語)なお、わたしが見ていると、見よ、小羊がシオンの山に立っていた。また、十四万四千の人々が小羊と共におり、その額に小羊の名とその父の名とが書かれていた。
(英訳)Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.
2節
われ天よりの聲を聞けり、多くの水の音のごとく、大なる雷霆(いかづち)の聲のごとし。わが聞きし此の聲は彈琴者(ことひき)の立琴を彈く音のごとし。
(口語)またわたしは、大水のとどろきのような、激しい雷鳴のような声が、天から出るのを聞いた。わたしの聞いたその声は、琴をひく人が立琴をひく音のようでもあった。
(英訳)And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.
3節
かれら新しき歌を御座の前および四つの活物と長老達との前にて歌ふ。この歌は地より贖はれたる十四萬四千人の他は誰も學びうる者なかりき。
(口語)彼らは、御座の前、四つの生き物と長老たちとの前で、新しい歌を歌った。この歌は、地からあがなわれた十四万四千人のほかは、だれも学ぶことができなかった。
(英訳)And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
4節
彼らは女に汚されぬ者なり、(きよ)き者なり、何處(いづこ)にまれ羔羊の往き給ふところに隨ふ。彼らは人の(うち)より贖はれて神と羔羊とのために初穗(はつほ)となれり。
(口語)彼らは、女にふれたことのない者である。彼らは、純潔な者である。そして、小羊の行く所へは、どこへでもついて行く。彼らは、神と小羊とにささげられる初穂として、人間の中からあがなわれた者である。
(英訳)These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.
5節
その口に虚僞(いつはり)なし、彼らは瑕なき者なり。
(口語)彼らの口には偽りがなく、彼らは傷のない者であった。
(英訳)No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
6節
我また他の御使の中空(なかぞら)を飛ぶを見たり。かれは地に住むもの、即ちもろもろの國・族・國語・民に宣傳(のべつた)へんとて永遠(とこしへ)の福音を携へ、
(口語)わたしは、もうひとりの御使が中空を飛ぶのを見た。彼は地に住む者、すなわち、あらゆる国民、部族、国語、民族に宣べ伝えるために、永遠の福音をたずさえてきて、
(英訳)Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth--to every nation, tribe, language and people.
7節
大聲にて言ふ『なんぢら神を畏れ、神に榮光を()せよ。その審判(さばき)のとき既に至りたればなり。汝ら天と地と海と水の源泉(みなもと)とを造り給ひし者を拜せよ』
(口語)大声で言った、「神をおそれ、神に栄光を帰せよ。神のさばきの時がきたからである。天と地と海と水の源とを造られたかたを、伏し拝め」。
(英訳)He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."
8節
ほかの第二の御使、かれに從ひて言ふ『倒れたり、倒れたり。大なるバビロン、己のが淫行より出づる憤恚(いきどほり)の葡萄酒をもろもろの國人(くにびと)に飮ませし者』
(口語)また、ほかの第二の御使が、続いてきて言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。その不品行に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を、あらゆる国民に飲ませた者」。
(英訳)A second angel followed and said, "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries."
9節
ほかの第三の御使、かれらに從ひ大聲にて言ふ『もし獸とその像とを拜し、且その額あるひは手に徽章(しるし)を受くる者あらば、
(口語)ほかの第三の御使が彼らに続いてきて、大声で言った、「おおよそ、獣とその像とを拝み、額や手に刻印を受ける者は、
(英訳)A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand,
10節
必ず神の怒の酒杯に盛りたる混りなき憤恚の葡萄酒を飮み、かつ聖なる御使たち及び羔羊の前にて火と硫黄とにて苦しめらるべし。
(口語)神の怒りの杯に混ぜものなしに盛られた、神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、聖なる御使たちと小羊との前で、火と硫黄とで苦しめられる。
(英訳)he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.
11節
その苦痛(くるしみ)の煙は世々限りなく立ち昇りて獸とその像とを拜する者、また其の名の徽章を受けし者は夜も晝も休息(やすみ)を得ざらん。
(口語)その苦しみの煙は世々限りなく立ちのぼり、そして、獣とその像とを拝む者、また、だれでもその名の刻印を受けている者は、昼も夜も休みが得られない。
(英訳)And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name."
12節
神の誡命(いましめ)とイエスを信ずる信仰とを守る聖徒の忍耐は(ここ)にあり』
(口語)ここに、神の戒めを守り、イエスを信じる信仰を持ちつづける聖徒の忍耐がある」。
(英訳)This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.
13節
我また天より聲ありて『書き記せ「今よりのち主にありて死ぬる死人は幸福(さいはひ)なり」御靈(みたま)[も]言ひたまふ「然り彼等は、その勞役(はたらき)を止めて(やす)まん。その(わざ)これに隨ふなり」』と言ふを聞けり。
(口語)またわたしは、天からの声がこう言うのを聞いた、「書きしるせ、『今から後、主にあって死ぬ死人はさいわいである』」。御霊も言う、「しかり、彼らはその労苦を解かれて休み、そのわざは彼らについていく」。
(英訳)Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
14節
また見しに、視よ、白き雲あり、その雲の上に人の子の如きもの坐して、(かうべ)には金の冠冕をいただき、手には()き鎌を持ちたまふ。
(口語)また見ていると、見よ、白い雲があって、その雲の上に人の子のような者が座しており、頭には金の冠をいただき、手には鋭いかまを持っていた。
(英訳)I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one "like a son of man" with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.
15節
又ほかの御使、聖所より出で雲のうへに坐したまふ者にむかひ、大聲に呼はりて『なんぢの鎌を入れて刈れ、地の穀物は全く熟し、既に刈り取るべき時至ればなり』と言ふ。
(口語)すると、もうひとりの御使が聖所から出てきて、雲の上に座している者にむかって大声で叫んだ、「かまを入れて刈り取りなさい。地の穀物は全く実り、刈り取るべき時がきた」。
(英訳)Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, "Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe."
16節
かくて雲の上に坐したまふ者、その鎌を地に入れたれば、地[の穀物]は刈り取られたり。
(口語)雲の上に座している者は、そのかまを地に投げ入れた。すると、地のものが刈り取られた。
(英訳)So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
17節
又ほかの御使、天の聖所より出で同じく利き鎌を持てり。
(口語)また、もうひとりの御使が、天の聖所から出てきたが、彼もまた鋭いかまを持っていた。
(英訳)Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
18節
又ほかの火を(つかさ)どる御使、祭壇より出で、利き鎌をもつ者にむかひ大聲に呼はりて『なんぢの利き鎌を入れて地の葡萄の樹の房を刈り收めよ、葡萄は既に熟したり』と言ふ。
(口語)さらに、もうひとりの御使で、火を支配する権威を持っている者が、祭壇から出てきて、鋭いかまを持つ御使にむかい、大声で言った、「その鋭いかまを地に入れて、地のぶどうのふさを刈り集めなさい。ぶどうの実がすでに熟しているから」。
(英訳)Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, "Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe."
19節
御使その鎌を地に入れて地の葡萄を刈りをさめ神の憤恚の大なる酒槽(さかぶね)に投げ入れたり。
(口語)そこで、御使はそのかまを地に投げ入れて、地のぶどうを刈り集め、神の激しい怒りの大きな酒ぶねに投げ込んだ。
(英訳)The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath.
20節
かくて都の外にて酒槽を()みしに、血酒槽より流れ出でて馬の(くつわ)(とど)くほどになり、一千六百町に廣がれり。
